A Dissapointing Evening at Bernies 7/3/2010

My wife's Grouper in a bag was only half cooked and had to be sent back - she had to settle for an appetizer instead. We thought that the manager would comp that but they didn't. Also we sent a cocktail back because it had a hair in it. The waitress was iffy. We had a group of 11 and nobody thought that their meal was above mediocre. I had the special which was grouper and scallops with a risotto and asparagus. There was way too much butter on everything and the fish was overdone. Our waitress didn't know what the special was so before we ordered I had to walk up to the front of the restaurant to read the specials. Overall there was nothing about Bernies that will make me ever want to go there again.

The title says it all; additionally, there is a good variety of choices on the menu. I've tried several things and have been pleased with all of them.

The food was really good and the service was terriffic once we got to the table. The only downside is that the restaurant is pretty small, so you might have a fairly long wait.

We found Barefoot Bernie's a few years ago when the restaurant we arrived at another restaurant only to find it had gone out of business. In a hurry, we had to decide where to go. We had driver past Barefoot Bernie's and decided to give it a try, and we are so glad we did. Good food, generous portions and reasonable prices. Barefoot Bernie's is on our "must do" list every year!

My friends and I stopped on a Sunday afternoon to watch a little football while we were waiting for our Sunday check-in. I had one of their gourmet pizzas and it was delicious. Bacon, cheddar cheeseburger pizza...I recommend highly. We didn't go back for the Steeler game that night but I hear it is one of the best places on the Banks to watch the Steeler game.

We watched the first half of the Steeler-Texans game on Sunday, Sept 7th. The food was very good - the service was great - and the crowd was great as well.

Myself & 9 family members visited Barefoot Bernie's last year. I had the conch fritters & my sister had the coconut shrimp. It was definitely a fun place for the whole family. The food has a fun flare, so be open to it!

We live in KDH and eat frequently at Bernie's. The portions are large for the price and the ingredients are fresh. I like the big salads. You'll notice a lot of locals at the bar, eating dinner. You know the food must be decent and the prices good if the locals frequent it.

We have a house near BB's, so we go often. Nice, friendly service and very good food..especially for the price. Love the big salads! Great for kids.

Ate there in June 2006. This was the best meal we had during our stay. My mouth started to water when the server brought out a loaf of freshly baked bread and olive oil/herbs to dip it in. I had steak, my daughter had crablegs. Both were delicious. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Can't wait to go back.
