Buoy's Restaurant
If you're going to spring for a sit-down dinner, you're not going to go wrong with the Buoy.

Don't let the plastic tablecloths put you off; the seafood is as good as any you'll get at any urban fine dining restaurant. Order the tuna steak pan-seared, almost rare, and they cook it to perfection. The size of the tuna would have cost twice in a metro restaurant, too.

For those with a more down home palate, try the fried chicken livers. The breading is a tad salty, but it complements the liver nicely. If you're eating it alone, order it as your entree because the portion is huge.

The seafood au gratin is good too, with an excellent white wine sauce.

We were lucky that this restaurant took reservations for 18 and it was a pleasant surprise. Since we are from the Charleston,SC area, we are partial to local seafood and it was all delicious. The crab cakes were full of crab meat and everything was cooked to perfection. Thanks for a great going away dinner.
