We dish up foods from around the world, from burgers to fiery regional dishes. Every dish we do has some kind of chile in it, whether it's grilled or roasted poblano, chipotle, smoked habanero or jalapenos. I particularly like chipotles because of their smokiness, which is especially nice with red meat. I use just enough in a demi glace for beef tenderloin to give it that smoky chipotle flavor.
Good food, but..... 7/14/2006 Reviewer: Jerry from Orlando, FL (formerly Chesapeake Bay)
zero decor. Plain old wooden tables, hard old wooden chairs, noisy. Prices on the high side for the decor, but portions are good size. Drinks are $6-9. The menu is imaginative, and the food is pretty good and well-presented. The crab-cakes are tasty with smoky pepper crust, but had too much filler for my liking, more like deviled crab. The carb and shrimp over polenta is a better choice, IMHO.
A "Can't Miss" for Lunch 5/31/2006 Reviewer: Jim Clinkenbeard from Fort Thomas, KY USA
Drinks are great, but the food is terrific. Homemade chili is amazing. Fish dishes are unique, fresh, and huge. Jalapeno potato salad is the perfect side. Atmosphere is mid-Jimmy Buffett. Menu changes frequently. Prices are good. We go several times during our 2-3 week stay.
Best soups in the area 5/9/2006 Reviewer: Maryland Crab from Silver Spring, MD USA
We never miss a lunch a Chilli Peppers when we visit the Outer Banks. Their soups of the day are always innovative and excellent. A soup and sandwich stop here is part of every trip.

The "burrito of the day" maintained its size and shape throughout digestion.

Great food. Tapas is super. Lots of wierdos hang out here late at night though.
Sometimes good 10/26/2004 Reviewer: Tim from KDH, NC
I eat here often since I can walk to it. The food is sometimes wonderful and sometimes just OK. Seems to matter who is cooking that day. The menu is limited, but they do have some good items. The tuna appetizer is just to die for (when they have it) and the Sunday brunch is good. They have a great hamburger and the chili is very good. I have had some fantastic tuna here too. The downside is it is small and can be noisy. It is a favorite local hangout.
One of the best meals I've had at OBX 5/17/2004 Reviewer: Winnie from Northern VA
The Ribeye was nothing short of spectacular, one of the best steaks ever. It had a raspberry habanero glaze that was the perfect blend of spicy/sweet. Can't wait to go back again!
Disappointed 11/28/2003 Reviewer: Rob from Somewhere in Cyberspace
Two years ago, I would have given this place 4 stars. I found the menu to be limited, the food slightly overpriced, and the service below average on my last two visits.
