Full Moon Cafe - Manteo, Outer Banks Restaurant
|
Great Outer Banks cuisine with a sophisticated flare. The New York Daily News raves "culinary magic". "Delightful and Affordable" proclaims the Washington Post. Not stuffy, just great OBX eats in an affordable, upbeat restaurant.
Located on historic Roanoke Island in the village of Manteo. This quaint seaside town brims with unique boutiques and world class galleries and salons. Treat yourself to a day on our "Treasure Island" and be sure to visit THE FULL MOON CAFE, right in the center of it all.
Located on the corner of Sir Walter Raleigh and Queen Elizabeth St. under the town clock tower.

This is one of my favorite restaurants! Love the food, especially the duck breast with polenta. They understand gluten-free which is very important to us! Dog friendly outdoor dining available.

Full Moon 8/24/2008

In my opinion, the entrees can be hit-or-miss. I'm not crazy about their standard rice and veggies. Pretty bland. But, and this is a BIG BUT, they make the best soups in the OBX, and their crab dip is a thing of beauty. We always go back for that.
Th service is always excellent, and the wine list is great. Just watch out for some humdrum main courses.

OBX Taste of Beach Wine Dinner 3/9/2008
Reviewer: Kathy Sparrow from Outer Banks

Last night while parts of Manteo had lost electricity and downtown Manteo got ankle high in flood waters, several hardy souls had an awesome five course wine dinner at Full moon Cafe. Each course was great. Gorgonzola-Mushroom soup. Salad with seared tuna. Steak au Poivre; stuffed flounder; and perfectly marinated duck with wild rice. Finally, creme brulee. All paired with the best wines. Great meal. Really enjoyed it. And the flood just added to the evening.

We go here for lunch every time we go to Manteo for the day, sometimes we just make a special trip for The Full Moon! The food is so good; I've never had anything I didn't enjoy. And the service is friendly and prompt. They also have a nice wine list.
