 So So, bit overpriced 4/22/2012

Maybe it was an off night, but service was slow considering there were only two other groups in the restaurant. March 2012. The food was ok, but a bit overpriced. The kids drinks were neat, free toy animal and the drinks were unique, kids loved them. Overall, not the worst place we have eaten in the OBX, but not the best. Do not recommend the Jazzy Chicken with pineapple/sauce; the chicken/coconut was good, the pineapple/sauce was good, just not good together. Would give them a second chance if the parking lot was empty and had larger budget.

Had a great meal here last week. I don't remember what my boyfriend had but I had the Jazzy Chicken and it was awesome! We went for a late lunch when Jazzy chicken isn't available but the chef was kind enough to make it for me. Staff was friendly. Decor was interesting; took a couple of pictures.

Don't eat coconut shrimp!!! It's frozen, not fresh. For sure doesn't measure up to Outback Steakhouse's version. Also, dining room had some sort of fabric tacked to the ceiling. Looked like it has been there way, way too long. Very dusty. Made me uncomfortable having it above my plate of food. Ick Factor!

The food at Goombays is always good. We like the always changing specials, and the kid friendly atmosphere.
It is usually the first place we go for lunch, and we always go at least twice a week when we are there.

We ate at Goombays in June 2010 as well as June 2006 and it was good both times. We went this last time for my son's 11th birthday-his choice-he remembered it from 4 years ago. Good atmosphere, fun drinks for the kids (and adults). I like the coconut chicken, my husband had fish and chips and the kids had shrimp baskets.

We ate Goombays the first night we got to the beach because it was right there by us and it was real late. Surprised by how good the food was and we just got appetizer type of things..at there a couple of times that week and we will eat their again in July!

I entered a 4 star review of Goombay's in 2004, and several visits since has not led me to change my review. Excellent food, friendly service, fun decor, and good portion sizes.

One of the jewels of OBX. Pleasant atmosphere, excellent staff and great food. Nice menu selection and food is prepared perfectly. You wont be disappointed.

We found this place by asking locals...and it was a great place! Very kid friendly, everywhere they looked there as something new to look at. The food was great. My daughter got the steamed veggie plate and there was enough for her meal and everyone else to have steamed veggies. I got the coconut chicken ...refered by the waitress. She was right on the money it was a big portion and wonderful. I have already recommended it to others on the island and plan to go back next year!

After eating here for the first time in 2004 we have returned every trip to OBX. It is great food for the $$. Haven't had anything I didn't like. They know how to do seafood. It has never been overly crowded when we have gone.

We have visited the outer banks numerous years. Tried Goobays on a referral, will never go back!!!! The cook did not know how to cook fish. Service was poor. Portions were very small. This is one of the worst experiences I have had here, the other two are out of business now.

We first tried Goombays when looking for somewhere to eat 4 years ago. We decided to take a chance and try it out. What luck we had! We return every year...it's a must! We always get the jazzy coconut chicken....AMAZING!! They have fun drinks for kids, and for the adults, I recommend the Goombay Smash! Awesome!! We've never had any problems with service...fast and friendly!

Fun, underwater atmosphere; very good, slightly "exotic" food. Have eaten lunch there several times, not disappointed with the food or service.
