Meridian 42 - Southern Shores, Outer Banks Restaurant
|
Meridian 42 opened in the Fall of 2002 on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. We offer our patrons coastal Mediterranean cuisine, an eclectic wine list of European and American wines, daily made breads, pastas and desserts, ocean view dining, and an open kitchen to watch the action from.
The name Meridian 42 is derived from the latitude line at 42 degrees north which runs through Barcelona, Spain and Rome, Italy. Our cuisine is inspired by the flavors and ingredients of the northern Mediterranean coastline between those two cities and offers our customers a new look on the Old World.
Join us for dinner at our central location on the Outer Banks, at the new Southern Shores Crossing Shopping Center.

we used to come to Meridian 42 on every trip to the OBX (at least 4 times a year). Since the ownership changed, the quality of food, service and selection of wines has gone drastically down hill. The owner/manager is rude, the food tastes terrible and the servers are slow and inefficient. We will be going to Blue Point from now on.

Good food! 2/15/2009

The ambiance was good albeit a bit dark for me. Good music. But the service was slowww. Appetizers were forgotten or served late. But most of all, the serving size to me was disappointing. Yes, after spending a lot of money, I left hungry.

why is it sometimes these 'expensive' establishments think it's okay for the wait staff to be less than friendly? Food is great, but staff a turnoff

seats were soo unconfertable and the food was very sub par. needs some sort of noise control. We could barely hear or server and the place was empty! I would hate to see it full. but then again it probably dosnt get much bussiness.

The food here is very good every time I have been there. The autistics are my biggest problem and my ears just ring, but did I mention the food was good. I can't hear the conversation, but that's ok - the food is very good.

fine cuisine 11/16/2003

Meridian 42 has stepped up to the plate and hit a home run. Open for just one year, they are as sure of themselves as if they've been open for 10! Coastal mediterranean is what they call themselves, but it's their own version of mediterranean cooking. they bake their own bread daily and serve a nice tapas menu along with inventive entrees of fresh seafood, steak, lamb, etc. and the best crabcake i personally have ever tasted and I'm from maryland!!! If you love upscale cuisine and fried clamstrips are not your idea of fine food, run as fast as you can to this place. By the way, this summer, they were packed out and it took us 2 times before we could get a reservation, so call in the summertime. they have a website with their menu which i was told changes with the season. www.meridian42.com
