Nicoletta's Italian Cafe - Corolla, Outer Banks Restaurant
|
Since opening about a decade ago, Nicoletta's Italian Cafe has been a cornerstone of fine dining on the northern Outer Banks. White linen tablecloths, longstemmed roses, and a view of the Currituck Beach Lighthouse please the eye as sounds of classical jazz mix with Sinatra and friends to set the mood in the dining room.
Nicoletta's menu features fresh seafood, certified Angus beef, milk-fed veal, free-range chicken, and gourmet pasta combinations, all prepared in the Italian tradition with a creative touch. An extensive wine list with more than 30 selections complements the fare, and sinful desserts end the meal satisfactorily. Nicoletta's was the winner of a 2001 Wine Spectator award. There is no children's menu at this restaurant. Nicoletta's is open for dinner year-round. In season, it is open seven days a week; call for off-season hours. Dress is casual, and reservations are highly recommended. Catering and private parties are available.

A "REAL" TOUCH OF ITALY 6/23/2010
Reviewer: Jim and Kelly Amato from Shadyside, Ohio

On the evening of June 16, 2010, a rehearsal dinner was held at Nicoletta’s Italian Restaurant for James Amato and Jessica Johnson. Nicoletta’s setting and cuisine offered the perfect touch for the occasion. The food, prepared by the master Italian chef Pasquale, was of “old world” Italian style and origin. His lasagna and chicken parmesan were both generous in portion and beyond description in flavor. The sauce was out of this world. Martha, the hostess, displayed professionalism and good humor offering my wife and I suggestions for set up and elegance in style and demeanor adding to the special attention she gave to each customer she served. If it’s outstanding Italian food you’re looking for, with that touch of ambiance of the Outer Banks, then look no further than Nicoletta’s Italian Restaurant. Make this your first and last stop to eat at the Outer Banks. You won’t be sorry. 5 of 5 star rating!!!

I have eaten at Nicoletta's several times. Good Italian food with some great seafood selections. Wait staff is attentive and the atmosphere is nice. If you are in the mood for Italian you won't be disappointed.

Been there since the beginning 11/16/2003

Opened in the early 90s in the Corolla Light Village shops. It is a nicely decorated, with linens and roses. The wait staff are dressed very nicely. It is a place to get a little dressed up. The entrees are basic Italian fare. For the OBX, I think Nicoletta's is very good and should get maybe 4 stars, but on my Italian food scale it gets 3 stars.
