Gammy's 24 hour layer salad

Ingredients List

1 large head of romaine lettuce
1 large head of leaf lettuce
1 pound of bacon cooked until crisp and crumbled
6 hard boilled egs sliced
3 cups (large bag ) of shredded swiss cheese
1 bag of smal frozen peas
medium jar of real mayo.
salt, pepper, sugar


Preparation Instructions

wash drain and tear lettuce into bite size pieces
place ingredients into large glass or plastic bowl as follows: 1/2 of roamine in bottom, sprinkle with salt,pepper and sugar. layer eggs, bacon, leaf lettuce, 2 cups of cheese, the rest of romaine lettuce, sprinkle lightly with salt & pepper, layer frozen peas, spread mayo over the top of bowl sealing edges. Cover and place in fridge over night. Toss well 30 minutes before serving. Can also be made early in the day

My mother in law "Gammy" was often asked to make this salad for family get togethers. Now that she has passed I am the one who makes it. I pack it to have as our first dinner when we got to OBX
