Ingredients List

Ham Bone
4-5 potatoes sliced thin

Pot Pie Dough
2c. Flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
2 Tbsp. shortening
3/4 c. water

Preparation Instructions

Boil ham in pot covered with water to make broth. I add carrot, celery and onion to flavor. Then strain out.
Remove ham from bone cut in small pieces.
Mix dough as for pie crust but roll out thinner. Cut into 2' squares. ( I use pizza cutter ) Bring ham broth to hard boil add alternately in layers, ham, sliced potatoes, and pot pie dough. Cook 15-20 minutes or until potatoes are soft.

I prefer the potatoes in chunks so I cook the potatoes in the broth until tender and then add ham and pot pie dough.

I have a cheat for you if you don't want to mess with making your own dough. Use a package of the dry gnocchi pasta from the grocery store. They have it at Giant Eagle with the other pastas.
