We have always gone to Pops while we're in Buxton every year....used to be smoky, but we still went....now, with the no smoking ban, it's wonderful. And the food is still great!

Well I sold my house in PA and came down to the OBX to relax for the winter. Yea it gets slow around here this time of year but thats what I like. Stopped at the Light House Sports Bar and my girl friend and I were the only ones in there and actually we had to wait for the female bartender to get off her lazy @ss and give us a drink. Well we just shrugged it off as a bad night, so on the second trip to the Light House Sports Bar we got served and were the only one there at the time. I told her that I would love to invest down here and she turned very combatant with me and basically said we don't want you here! WELL we guzzled are drink and found Pops.
They are really nice laid back people and service is wonderful along with the food. AAA+++ So if you want good friendly people and STAY AWAY FROM THE SPORTS BAR.

We go to Pop's every trip to Hatteras - Great fried shrimp, oysters and the coldest beer on the island. Not too $$ -Large screen tv for sports and beautiful bartender!

We love Pops...go there every year. Except for the smoke, it's a great, fun place with great food & drinks. A real local atmosphere that makes you feel at home...couldn't go to the OBX without a night at Pops.

We love it here! Always feel at home and the staff makes you feel welcomed. It's always nice to meet and hear stories and ideas from the locals. Food is great, great cold beer. Never a dull moment when we go there.

We love Pop's!! Every time we visit HI, we stop in two or three times while we're there. It is definitely a local hang-out. The food is great and the beer is cold. My favs are the crab nuggets, oysters and shrimp (fried and steamed). The crab cake sandwich is really good too! The waitresses are some of the best on the island in my book. We'll continue to make Pop's a part of our vacation as long as it's open.

We were there in June 2009 and love the atmoshphere, reasonable prices,service, food was great and beer ice cold. This is always our first place to go.

Or else He would have sent that Waitress with the Attitude Home for the day.I ordered a Shrimp Burger and She brought it out it was ice cold,I didnt say nothing because I knew better.The bun was cold also.The Shrimp were good but would have been better if they were HOT.Its a nice place to drink a beer though.

Not the pretiest place but the food is great and the prices reasonable. Only drawback is the limited menu but the seafood makes up for it.

Our all time fav--A must do for us--at least 5 times in 2 week visit. Still the best steamed shrimp on the island in my opinion. Crab legs were great as well as the pork bar b que.

Favorite place on the island. Visit at least 4 or 5 times during the week. Awesome steamed spicy shrimp. BBQ & Burgers good too. Great place to chat with the locals.
