In Memory Of PGHsteelworker

Hi all,

Some of you may have enjoyed the posts by PGHsteelworker (Tim). For those who don't know, he enjoyed posting about each day that he spent on Hatteras.

This is his niece, Jessica. I am sorry to say that my uncle Tim passed away suddenly on Friday, February 9th, 2018. His passing was a shock to everyone in the family. Hatteras was his favorite place to be. He enjoyed surf fishing, watching the night sky, and taking pictures.
His obituary can be found here: http://www.rusiewiczfh.com/obituary/timothy-knapp?lud=BBE693D1C796EEF79A28A62A2AED5061

As a tribute to him, we plan on continuing his hobby of posting pictures on here. If you would like, we ask that you please make donations in his name to the Outer Banks Preservation Association. The link to their website can be found here: http://www.obpa.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=440&Itemid=61

Thank you to everyone who supported his blog,

I am so sorry to hear this. I really enjoyed his posts and humor. You are all in my prayers.

RE: In Memory Of PGHsteelworker

I am stunned. He and his wife survived the fire at Slash Creek Condos a few years ago. He also was on Hatteras when Matthew hit the island and posted updates and photos. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

Sorry to hear this about a fellow Pittsburgher. Another good person leaves this world way too soon. We enjoyed reading his posts. Tim's family and friends are in our thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry for your loss. Like others, I enjoyed his posts and pictures. His story of the condo fire was great and has stuck with me. I can picture it all in my mind like I was there. I will look forward to the pictures that you post as well in his memory. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. So sorry.

RE: In Memory Of PGHsteelworker

Rest in peace Tim. I'm sure the other side for you is filled with surf fishing and watching the night sky.

I am very sorry to hear that, he and his wife have been coming to Harbor Deli for years and it was always a pleasure to see them. He seemed to truly appreciate what Hatteras is and his time in it. Peace to you and your family and thank you for letting us know.

I'm so very sorry to read of Tim's sudden death. Thank you for letting us know - and for planning to continue sharing photographs in the days to come in your uncle Tim's AKA PGHsteelworker's memory.

RE: In Memory Of PGHsteelworker

How thoughtful of you, in the midst of your grief, to keep the forum aware of your uncle’s death. His pics and posts were always a delight. One could tell he embraced his vacations with a flair, and had no trouble reaching an outer banks mindset. All deaths are difficult, but those unexpected, sudden ones just blindside you.
Condolences to your family in this time of sorrow.

Jessica thank you for letting us know. Tim took the best photographs...and was very humble about it..but he had a natural eye for beauty and capturing it effortlessly. His love for nature was contagious. I will miss seeing the island from his perspective.
My sincere condolences to you all.

For each twilight — a dawn…
For each trial — the strength to carry on,
For each storm cloud — a rainbow…
For each shadow — the sun…
For each parting — sweet memories when sorrow is done.
