Blizzard in MA today.

Blizzard in MA today.

Third nor'easter in two weeks and blizzard here in MA today. Real blizzard: heavy snow, high winds, reduced visibility for at least 3 hours. 15 inches snow forecast for here (12 - 18) and 2 feet in SE MA. Will just sit inside and deal with it tomorrow morning.

Lost power last week. This is just regular snow, not last week's heavy, wet snow. Hope we don't lose power, but the lights flickered a few times already. Ugh!

RE: Blizzard in MA today.

My brother and I own a house on the Outer Cape; he lives in Texas, so it's pretty much up to me to take care of it. This winter has done wonders for my blood pressure, I'll tell ya that. My wife used to toy with the idea of owning a place in Southern Shores, but I told her that enough was enough, that the first report of an approaching hurricane would probably be enough to kill me. My neighbors on Cape Cod are sending me horror stories of power outages and all kinds of storm damage. The house is intact, so far, but I hope that the 10 days without power didn't kill off the new fridge I just put in.

Brace yourselves, Its still early but if the forecasts are to be believed, we'll be dealing with another nor'easter around this time next week. 4 in 3 weeks Sad smiley

10 days without power on the cape? Wow!

They're supposed to receive very high winds with this storm.

We were about 30 hours without power last week: Thursday morning to Friday afternoon. Temperature was 51 in the house. I just bundle up. Top: t-shirt, 2 long-sleeve t-shirts and sweatshirt. Bottom: boxer briefs, mid-calf socks, two layers thermal underwear, sweatpants.

The street that always loses power has overhead lines that supply power to 300 homes. I think we are sort of a priority to get back online.

Aside from no heat, we do o.k. Have water since we have city water. So we have water and can use the toilets. Water heater is gas-fired, so we even have hot water for showers. Gas cooktop that I can light with a match, so I can cook.

Just bring up the old coffee percolator from the basement. Really do need to practice with that, though. My percolator coffee must be the world's worst coffee. Theeth smiley

Next-door neighbors have a place in Chatham on the cape. Blizzard warning:

"WHAT...Blizzard conditions. Winds gusting as high as 65 mph will cause whiteout conditions in blowing snow. Significant drifting
of the snow is likely. Total snow accumulations of 15 to 20 inches, with localized amounts around 22 inches, are expected."

We escaped this one. It was to far off shore for us to get it. Just some light snow (1-2 inches) this morning. I sympathize you guys further north. You're getting the brunt of most of these.

Spent 20 years in New Hampshire. Mother in law just called from up there, said they had 19 inches and how pretty it was. Asked me if I wanted her to send me some. Told her A) if its so pretty and she enjoys it so much why would she want to send me any? B) Don't use that nasty 4 letter word when talking to me. I moved to SC to get away from 2 things you and snow!!! It was a short call

I think we've flip flopped winter weather with the east coast this year. You guys have been hit hard over and over. Good luck with the next one.
