Chalk painting upholstery fabric

My Grandmothers sofa is about 50 years old and structurally in excellent condition. It was quite well made!!

The damask or brocaded upholstery fabric was ivory but has an off yellow fade now.

I’ll take some pics of it to post if there’s any interest, but my question is, has anyone ever chalk painted upholstered fabric here? I’ve seen it on You Tube and decided to ask as it seems there’s significant time between all the coats in order to do it correctly.

Hoi, found this tutorial that might help provide an answer or 2...it deals with the fabric and time between coats.

Thank you for that link Dhart! Grey is the color we are tossing around too. It may require some ventilation if it gets done inside, so maybe once the A/C is steadily running this summer.

Poor Ish and your chalked up poolside!! Kids these days...and “adults” too! Behavioral issues seem out of control everywhere I go. Just an hour ago at the store some child was screaming in an ear splitting fashion. Wow
