Here's something you can do with Whelk shells that are not perfect...just have a hole on top...fill them with hen & chicks..!!!

Are they small cactii (succulents, air plants, etc.)? I see these along the Jersey Shore in souvenier shops quite often.

Great idea! Small agave plants work well too; They have lots of neat ones ranging from small to gigantic at Plant Delights Nursery in Raleigh (plantdelights.com). I'll have to add that to my pinterest board!

We use to grow hens & chicks in an old boot or wash tub but never thought of a whelk shell neat idea.
