They say the two best days of owning a boat are the day you buy it and the day you sell it.

You don't just drop money into a boat, ya pour it. Takes a constant trickle feed of funds to keep the boating gods from dropping the hammer on you with a really BIG BILL!! Cloud

I thought pirates had winches?
The mermaid could just drop in say hello then roll out with the plattinum card for a day on the reef.

I believe pirates had a different view. According to a web search on the topic....

Some stories depicted mermaids as perilous creatures associated with floods, storms, shipwrecks, and drowning. In other folklore (or sometimes within the same folk tradition) they can be benevolent, bestowing boons or falling in love with humans. The mermaids of Isla Sirena served as agents of the Sirens, dragging many sailors down to a watery grave. Other tales told that mermaids had been known to gather at Whitecap Bay for hundreds of years, thereby striking terror in the heart of sailors and pirates alike. Drawn to the surface by man-made light and singing sailors, these scintillating mermaids entrance their prey before dragging them to the depths to devour them.

But I think most of us wouldn't mind if "Seahawk" climbed on board. Wink smiley

Oh Lawdy!
If we bought that ship there would be no more platinum card. The only card we would have left would be our library card.
It has possibilities though.
Pirate Dinner Cruises and serve rum based drinks and salty meats.
Private Pirate Parties. (Mermaids/Wenches upon request.)
Or rent it out as a house boat. How cool to tell the neighbors, "this summer we rented a big pirate ship instead of the usual beach cottage."
Hmmmmm. How far do you have to be offshore to gamble?

Excellent mermaid info Goldens Rule.
Go BoSox!
