New Schtuff

New Schtuff

Some new excretions. First one is "Gurgler, Arden, WV", taken recently at an area whitewater mecca, West Fork River. Working a little larger now, this one is 11"x14", framed at 20"x24". It'll hang in a soon to open local brewery/restaurant, "Ramblin' Root".

FIL's old Gravely mower. No idea why it posted so large! Also appears grainy, which the printed version isn't.

i've been making some oblong oval planters recently (earthenware). Shallow dishes for moss gardens. So far i've collected or started from seed 5 different moss varieties. This what i gave me me Honey as a gag Valentines Day gift. Heart shaped mosses in a pizza box!

Was "pumpkin" something originally in the box or is that her cute private nickname for you?

It was originally a pumpkin pie that a friend made for us. He put in a pizza box. Sometimes i call me Honey "my l'il punkin'" though! In love

Thanks, mini! It may be one my own favorite shots, ever. Right place, right time, as they say! And yes, it WAS cold! A friend wanted to go to Arden and i hadn't been there in years so i tagged along. We were both almost numb we left, i guess from the combination of wind and humid conditions at the river.

Happy Spring! Shot taken last Easter Sunday, on the banks of the Kanawha River near Charleston, WV. After a brief storm, the sun came out full bore and reflected off the wet Redbud trees. i experimented with a food storage bag loosely placed over the lens.

Thanks, MARI! i always look forward to your flower shots. Our last Stargazer lily finally got destroyed by deer and voles. It was from my dad's funeral several years ago, sent by a friend. It multiplied fine for a few years then gradually couldn't keep up with the damage. Our neighbor gave us s couple of big Gladiola clumps to plant there. The theivin' bastages still haven't touched those, after 3 years.

Here's a flower shot for you, "Rose and Rust". A dead rose that preserved itself during a harsh winter, against a background of an old metal ice cream sign. Totally unposed shot taken in late MIL's backyard a few years ago.
