Hi, I am wondering if it is legal for my neighbor to turn his shed into a rental unit? I believe it is a single home lot. Any advice?

There's a shed in Ocean Acres that someone's been living in for years, just off Ocean Acres Dr....Is that the one?

To answer your question,it's not legal without proper permits.I'm not sure what the minimum size requirements are for a single family dwelling.

Other than county restrictions, it may not be legal under town ordinances.

Duck passed an ordinance about "accessory structures" being allowed as rentals, I believe. Where in Dare County?

Are you asking because you want to do it too? Or do you want to turn him in?
