Maybe I should say "not as popular." It's been posted in a few galleries along with other photos of mine and it's always on the low-end of positive comments compared to the others.
I like the shot. Maybe it's the border? I'm thinking I'd like it better without, but I'd have to see it.
Yeah, most of the comments end up a critique of the use of effects. There are many purists out there that believe presenting anything other than what comes out of the camera as trickery and fake. The use of effects on photography for me is like makeup on a woman. Some need more than others, a few need none at all, but most look better with at least a little. Anyway... this use of effects was my attempt to create the feeling I had that day. It was late in the season - about like now - the temps were cooler, the days were getting shorter, it was quite a grey day - not much color in real life. And it was lonely. Me on the bridge and this one car going the other way. When I went black and white, added the pencil effect, and rounded it out with a vignette, it made me feel what I felt that day crossing the bridge.
