Tech Question

Tech Question

Shopping online for a new laptop over the weekend. I don't use mine for gaming, mostly just browsing and uploading a LOT of photos. I know I do want the 15.6" screen but I'm confused about the operating systems. I'm seeing lots of reasonably priced Chrome units and and am unfamiliar with it as I've always used Windows. This will just be for pleasure and isn't something I want to spend hours trying to figure out how to navigate So should I stick with what I know well and not overtax my feeble brain or is Chrome easy enough that a really good deal might be worth considering?

RE: Tech Question

Will you need to run any Windows programs? Chrome OS won't run them, but if it's available as a Web App it'll probably work. It's basically the Chrome browser with a file system and media player. It can also run Android Apps, so that might help bridge any gaps.

RE: Tech Question

Thanks. I think I'd better stick with Windows.

RE: Tech Question

That would be my recommendation. Chrome OS can work well for some, but you need to not be dependent on WIndows software at all. There is a learning curve, but it's pretty small.
