Good Morning Folks,
I have inadvertently brought about some confusion by being vague about the forum rules. I want to try and correct that now. ************************************************** ************ Rules of the Local Issues & Local Politics Forum: 1. NO PERSONAL ATTACKS: Anyone who makes derogatory and/or insulting comments about another member may have their posts removed / receive an infraction / be banned from this forum , or all of the above. 2. No Personal Information: No one may post another members name, email address, home address, phone number or any other personal information on the forum. Period. 3. Harassment / Intimidation: Members of this forum may not use the message board, private messages, or any other feature of the site to harass or intimidate another member. Violations or this policy will result in a ban from the forums. 4. Profanity / Inappropriate Content: If you think something might be inappropriate for the forum, it probably is. 5. Be Civil: Everyone should remain civil when debating issues. Regardless of how strongly you feel, or how much you dislike the other person's comments on a topic, be respectful. You don't have to sugar-coat your comments or hide how you feel...just don't be nasty to people who don't think think the same way you do. Also see rules 1-4. 6. No National Politics: Outer Banks local politics only. This also applies to signature lines, political cartoons, etc. ************************************************** ************ That is the bulk of it. I will add to the rules in the event I have overlooked something. Renee, Rob and I are the current moderators of the forum. We all have the goal of making the forum a place where any interested party can come and be educated (or educate) on important issues facing the Outer Banks. The basic moderating approach is going to be primarily hands-off, provided the discussions stay within the confines of the rules above. This forum is allowed more leeway than the others, but don't abuse it. I personally have learned a tremendous amount of information here and find many of the discussions fascinating. If we can get this thing running on an even keel and leave the drama behind, it will be a huge asset to anyone trying to educate themselves on the important issues on the Outer Banks. Cheers, Will |
