Opinions vary.... but we were not impressed at all. Much better BBQ at High Cotton, or even better, Currituck BBQ!

Poor excuse for bbq in the south. Bad prices, poor portions, worse flavor. The parking lot is always full of out of state tags, never see a nc tag in the parking lot. Thats a good clue as to how poor of an excuse for bbq this place is.Only good thing is they advertise on local radio stations and i appreciate them keeping beach 104s moose and jodie in a job.

BBQ had lots of fat, was greasy and little flavor unless it was sauced up. While some may like it, what they serve is not typical NC BBQ.

We eat here every year at least once. Usually we eat lunch on the way in and get some to carry home with us on the way out! I crave Pigman's BBQ until I get to Nags Head.

Best BBQ ever! I even brought my mother in who is not a big BBQ fan, and she loved it. The service gets an A+ as well!

Pigmans has been a staple for our families for 17 years. Sometimes our Friday night stop before leaving. Lately, our arrival Saturday lunch. I am partial to the Pork, but the rest of us have tried the other entrees. No one has any complaint. Recently redecorated with nicer wooden chairs, cleaned up tables. Looks more like a Southern roadside BBQ stand.

Ate at Pigman's once...seems to have all the makings of a fine bbq joint on the exterior, and the clippings on the walls. The food however is not great. I enjoy the chain restaurant Dickie's bbq alot better. I've gone to Pigman's only once, and it will probably stay that way. Last I checked, the OBX is in NORTH CAROLINA, so why have I yet to find a decent BBQ joint here?

My family and I go to Pigman's every now and then. We would even consider going anywhere else for BBQ. The shredded catfish sandwhich is fabulous.

Sure missed Pigman's Duck location this year on our trip. It had become one of our annual stops while on vacation.
Wish they would open a northern banks location again.

been to both. The highway restaurant is not as good as with the previous owners, the Duck stand could use some tables. Think NC BBQ turned golden arches...slightly disappointed and lighter in the wallet

We ate here this past week and the BBQ was great!! Next time I come to the Outer Banks, Pigmans will be one of my first stops!

Pigman's has been a disappointment- both at Duck and on the Bypass. It seems like it is the "fast food" equivalent of barbeque. I didn't think the ribs were good and the pulled pork left a lot to be desired. I won't try it again.

Enjoyed the NC pulled port bbq and the sauce. Don't expect much as far as the atmosphere is concerned--but hey, you're only there for the bbq!!

Ate dinner one evening in 8-03. We were tired of seafood and steak, etc. and thought BBQ would be a nice change. It was ok but nothing to rave about. Don't know that I would go again.

We've eat here a couple of times & have found it to be very good. I'm sure this year's visit won't be any different!! YUM! We've never been to the one in Duck though.

It's really not as good as it used to be. If you want good BBQ on the OUter Banks, check out High Cotton.

I usually find time to make a stop at Pigmans on the highway (never been to the one in Duck). The pork bbq is tasty, different than Virginia bbq, but good. Enjoyed the fries & sweet potatoe fries. Nothing special with the atmosphere or service.

I have been to Pigman's many times. It was recently sold to new owners in 2002 - you won't see the old Pigman comercials anymore. The bbq pork is all I ever get and it is good. Not cheap! I'll eat there when I am near by. I have never been to the one in duck.

Heartily enjoyed our lunch. Great BBQ, hushpuppies, and sweet potato fries.
Good place for take out or eat there.
Don't forget to take some home, too.

Just wanted some take out one night and remembered that Pigman had a take out only place in Duck. We had a great experience with Pigmans BBQ many years ago when he did the Trashfest party in Duck. So BBQ it was. Unfortunately this nights offerings were not great. The BBQ was tasteless and fatty....definately had not been cooking very long. The sauce was OK. The side of hush puppies were used to feed the gulls. This review was based on a visit to Pigmans in Duck in September 2003.
