Open Faced Monte Cristo Sandwiches
2 large eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
4 - 1 inch thick white bread slices
2 tablespoons butter
4 oz thinly sliced turkey
8 Swiss cheese slices
4 oz thinly sliced smoked ham
Dijon honey mustard
Whisk together eggs, milk, salt & pepper in a shallow dish. Dip both sides of bread slices in egg mixture.
Melt butter in a large skillet; add bread slices & cook 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
Spread a thin layer of honey mustard on each slice of bread. Top evenly with turkey, ham & cheese. Place on a baking sheet.
Broil 5 inches from heat 2-3 minutes or until cheese is melted. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve with a side of strawberry jam.
