4 Whole Eggs
1 Stick Butter
8 oz Cream Cheese (softened)
1 Box Confectioner's Sugar (16 oz.)
1 Box dark chocolate CAKE (devil's food) mix
20 oz. chopped walnuts (or nuts of your choice)
24 oz. Chocolate Chips
Beat eggs, butter, cream cheese and sugar together until smooth. Add cake mix. Add nuts and chocolate chips.
Pour batter into a greased 9X13 pan
Bake for one hour at 350 degrees
Cool after baking and then cut into squares and then chill before serving.
This recipe is HEAVY on the chocolate chips which will not all melt (and why everyone loves it) and unless you chill these brownies they tend to fall apart a bit.
They can also be served warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
Try them...worth it!!!!
This recipe beat out 25 other entries at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center brownie baking contest back in 1992.
