The name JK's has been synonymous with good food on the Outer Banks for longer than many of us can remember. JK's steaks, veal, lamb, ribs, chicken, and seafood are all cooked over a mesquite grill, bringing you aromatic wood cooking at its best. JK's eggless Caesar salads are a big hit alone or topped with shrimp or chicken. The fresh-made cornbread and French bread that accompany the meals are excellent. Four or five different fish specials are offered each night. JK's is also known for its fine selection of wines. The restaurant serves dinner nightly during the summer; call for off-season hours.

My wife and I ate here tonight - excellent meals. We shared an appetizer of Tobacco Onios - light and crispy and very tasty with a nice horseradish sauce. My wife had the Petite Filet with a baked potato - the steak was cooked perfectly and delicious - the baked potato was very nice. I had the Full Rack of Ribs - a nice dry rub and they were very good - brought a few leftovers back for a midnight snack. Very good broccoli and mashed potatoes too - we were too full for the dessert selection.

One thing for sure is they have the Green Beans figured out. Everything was very good and the staff and owner were very friendly. I can't say the bill overly excited me but I have certainly paid more and got less. I could see myself going back for a special occasion.

We had dinner there this week - those who had steak really enjoyed it - I had Wahoo with a Chipotle Orange Salsa which was excellent and my brother had the Grouper with Capers and Butter and though it was excellent as well. And April is a great waitress!

We ate there last week after seeing commerecials. It was very disappointing. I wanted a baked potato and could not get it unless I paid extra, could not get a small side salad, and was told they do not substitute. I have never been to a place where there are absolutely no substitutes. I will not be going back. The steak was ok, but everything else was below standard.

The dining room is quaint and has a nice feel. The service was good. The lobster bisque was great! The ribs, however, were just ok. The rub is nice but the meet is dry and somewhat chewy, it does not fall off the bones! The broccoli had a hollandaise sauce that had no flavor. The soft shell crab had little or no flavor, very bland. Too bad, we had high hopes but were very disappointed!

I had the Ribs and Chicken, my wife had the NY Strip, and my in-laws had the Ribs and a NY Strip. The steaks were cooked perfectly and with very little fat. My Dry Rub Ribs were the best I've had and the chicken was comparable to a five star restaurant. The dessert deserves honorable mention because the Brownie pie and Creme Brulee were delectable.

Will try again next year, but was dissapointed with our meal this year. Ribs were undercooked and the seafood and pasta was suppose to be tossed in a light cream sauce. The pasta and seafood were floating in a large amount of what seemed to be undrained water from cooking the pasta.

Great food. I mean great. Steak was perfectly medium rare, my wife's perfect medium.
Nice setting (yet casual).
Great service (including getting my son's thrown pacifier-his favorite "game" currently that we're discouraging strongly-from beneath a nearby table).

5 stars. I have a new favorite place.

Don't hesitate to go to JK's. After trying other "well known" tourist spots, we only found good food at JK's. The ribs were to die for. Expect the meals to be a bit pricey, but there was no line, the atmosphere was a step above, and the food was absolutely wonderful. Absolutely an A++.

JK's is by far the best for ribs! Being a marylander we always drowned out ribs in BBQ sauce, until of course we found the secret of JK'S spice rub! We can't keep it in our hosue!Outstanding! Mac Magruder is the best meat manager ever!

This place is AWESOME!! Everything we had was wonderful. I tried so many things (off of other's plates of course) everything was soooo good. I can't say enough about this place! It's not cheap but, like the saying goes, you get what you pay for!! :) We'll definately be back!

Our favorite restaurant at OBX, period. We've been going for 5 years now, and have always had a great meal. I love the steak, my wife loves the ribs, and we both love the bread and mashed potatoes.

Their open flame grill with mesquite wood makes the meat the best on the beach. The steaks are the best around. I don't much care for the ribs because I can do them at home for 5 hrs, but the steaks are to die for! Not cheap, but you'll enjoy your meal.
Located at the 9 mile post at Martin St & the Bypass.

I've been going to JK's for over 5 years, they are the best in everything...seaford, BBQ,steaks. You name it it's great. Be prepared to spend around 15 to 30$ a plate depending on what you get, but it is all worth every penny. The ribs are the best I've ever had!!

Avoid the ribs - they are not cooked long enough or slow enough to be tender, but the steaks are to die for!!

JK's is by far the best place to get a steak on the OBX. Try their flavored butters to compliment the steaks. I have eaten here 4 times and never has anyone been disappointed.
