www.silverlakemotelandinn.com/jollyroger.htmlDirectly across the street from the Silver Lake Motel & Inn on the Ocracoke harbor waterfront, you will find the Jolly Roger Pub & Marina. The Jolly Roger is the island's premiere and most authentic waterfront restaurant, serving lunch and dinner daily.
Relax in the Jolly Roger's casual outdoor atmosphere and watch the fishing boats unload the day's catch next door at the Ocracoke Fish House. The April 2005 issue of Southern Living Magazine highlighted the Jolly Roger Pub & Marina as Our Picks of the Best and as the place to enjoy stunning views and hearty fish sandwiches.
Hosting live music around sunset most days of the week, the Jolly Roger is known as the locals place to go.

Love this Place 7/30/2013

The Jolly Roger is my favorite place to stop for lunch on the entire OBX. Many good memories of sitting on the porch watching the day go by. Food is pretty good, I can't say I've ever had anything I didn't like. But the atmosphere and vibe are the best.

We love "the Jolly" for lunch. We always have a big crowd, the guys come right to the dock in the boat from fishing. Cold beer, good food. The atmosphere is very casual, but we love the "beachy" feel of it. Cold beer, and friendly servers. Cocoanut cake. Yum.

So many visits to our favorite spot on Ocracoke. We have no illusions about the food not being gourmet. The beer is cold, the hushpuppies are wonderful, the music is classic and the desserts are always good. My rating of 4 stars is sans the one star because the seating is not comfortable. The benches have splinters, the plastic chairs are wobbly. We do love it so though! Love the pelicans! Love the wise old owl! Love the scenery! Love the quirky folk who always seem to get our food to us with minimal fuss. Central location to start our yearly tour of the island. We always find something new. Hey Jolly Roger-bring back the sweet potato fries!!!

Enjoyed Jolly Roger 10/1/2009

We stopped in here for lunch this past June. Everyone in our group of 8 seemed to enjoy their food. The atmosphere is great. Service was a little on the slow side, but I think they were understaffed that day. All in all, I really liked the Jolly Roger and will definitely go there again.

We have visited Jolly Roger numerous times, the last being in July. Like many others, we have made it a point to stop and have a drink and admire the beautiful harbor. We have eaten there several times and the food is basically good. One thing is for sure, you can not beat the atmosphere.

We returned this year more for the atmosphere than the food, but was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful crab & corn chowder! Loaded with crab and very creamy. We also ordered a fries on the side and they were excellent! Lots of action on Silver Lake that day, so had free entertainment along with our lunch. I'll be back again next year!

I'm not sure what Travis it talking about below. We just ate there twice in August and their sanitation score was 98.5. It was clearly visable as it was posted above the bar.

Overpriced, but fun 10/13/2006

We dropped into the Jolly Roger to get a pitcher of beer and soak up the atmosphere of the harbor, but ended up having lunch there. The waitress was a bit of a b!tch, but eventually mellowed out after hearing our comments about her attitude. No complaints about the food from our group of 8, but the bill of over $150 for lunch stunned us. I'd probably return there again - if nothing else because of the water view, but I'd sure check the prices of the daily specials next time!

This is another place we always hit at least once a year. It is so nice to sit right at the harbor and watch the boats, the fishermen, and the birds. I like the pink lemonade. The food I would only rate as average but average is not bad and the location makes it better.

Dining experience?? 11/3/2005

The service was terrible, and she didn't speak comprehendable english. The food was ok. The seagulls and ducks fought you for your food. The only things that the place has going for it are the view and the music.

This place has the lowest sanitation grade on the beach. They try to hide it behind the display. It might be safer to eat the dried up bait off of one the piers.

Great view of silver lake while you eat 3/31/2005

Great place to kick back and have a beer and a great fresh fish sandwich, or maybe a bowl of fresh seafood chowder. You can watch the fishermen bring in the fresh catch of the day at the fish house next door. Great live entertainment. When you stay on the island overnight you can relax on your screened poarch and hear the music coming from Jolly Rogers' live bands.

Good hamburgers and a great view. Love dining on the deck in the fresh air and watching all the bird, boat and people activity around the harbor.

Nice setting, good food 10/26/2004

We always make a habit of going to this place while on Ocracoke. The burgers are good, the iced tea is bottomless, and the ceiling fans keep you cool. I love relaxing with a drink watching the boats coming and going, and pelicans flying nearby hoping to catch some scraps from the fishermen cleaning their catch. Nice atmosphere.

We always stop here for lunch on our Ocracoke visits. The hamburgers are very good! The fries and onion rings are okay... not great. But this is a neat place to sit, look at the harbor, visit with other folks and have a beer and a bite! We love it!

Good Mexican food on the island 10/25/2004
Reviewer: Rick
I have eaten there several times over the years I always go back for their Mexican food although they have many other things on their menu I go for the Mexican food. The cooks are Mexican and you can’t beat authentic food, Service was good although the have a turn over every year , Think the mostly hire collage kids for the summer . It’s an open deck restaurant but they have roll down windows if the weather gets bad. An excellent place for dinner and a sun set as they are right on silver lake I would recommend this place for anything on their menu just be aware of the weather before you go.
