We all had the Mahi Mahi and were very happy! Hush puppies were yummy! Food was served hot and by an very attentive waitress! Thank you Morgan for a wonderful meal tonight!!

We have been at Sonnys for breakfast, lunch, and dinner many times and have always had no complaints ever with the food or people. Highly recommended. You will even see Sonny or his sister Lee Ann walking around talking to guests and making sure everything is OK.

My husband and I had dinner here while vacationing in Hatteras. Our meals were great! Everyone was very friendly, the friendliest we have met. We will return to Sonnys.

I just came into the reviews to help Will out ashe asked. I found my review of Sonny's from 2006 down at the bottom. Since then, my daughter moved to Hatteras, has worked for Sonny for 4 years and most of the staff there and Sonny and his lovely sister Leeann have become personal friends of ours. When we are down there we always take our fresh caught fish straight across the street from the docks to Sonny's. I trust him with my catch more than anyone else on the island :) And we can go right in with our bloody fishy smelling clothes, sit down and no one looks at us funny...because it's where most of the day's fishermen go when they get off the boat.

And the breakfast is awesome!

We had gotten several recommendations on Sonny's and we were really looking forward to it. We walked in and there was no one there. No problem for me, means we sit for a while as everyone gets in place. We don't like to rush, so fine. Waitress is very pleasant. They seated us where we wanted-our choice, good. Thing is, our food was all fried in old oil. It all tasted the same, it was all dark from the fryer and funky tasting. Our waitress knew it-she saw it. I said nothing. The boys ate fine. My husband and I pushed our food around, ate our salads and we left. How does a restaurant start the dinner seating with funky oil? Why would the waitress have served the food. Having waited tables, I would have asked the cook to do it again. 3 stars because everyone was nice, relaxed and we got otherwise decent service. Prolly should have been 2 stars.

on our first visit to hatteras this was the only place in hatteras village that we found for breakfast. It was great food...sausage and bisquit was to die for!!! Staff was very friendly. we will definatly revisit on our return this year!

Had a crabcake sandwich for lunch and came back the next day to have crabcakes for dinner! Prices are very reasonable. Breakfast is good too. Good place to eat without breaking the bank!

We had a few meals at Sonny's and it was excellent every time. The atmosphere is perfect if you are looking for a nice place with affordable prices. Portions were generous. Simple, relaxed, definetly a family place. Servers were friendly and efficent, and again, food great every time. We will defeinetly be regulars for our trips to Hatteras.

Visited here for breakfast on our last morning in the OBX in September. Food and prices were ok. We make breakfast every morning on vacation, and the food we had here was about the same. If you are looking for home cooked breakfast without the cooking, this is the place for you. Nothing fancy.

We ate here about 3 times for breakfast during my last trip to Hatteras. The food was really good. I loved their hashbrowns. In fact, everyone in our group kept commenting on how good they were. The portions are huge and very reasonably priced. I would definitely go back!

There have been some things added to the menu, and it seems that the owner gets a kick out of trying new recipes. Sonny's Clam Chowder is to die for and don't pass by the Seafood Supreme.

Sonny's has changed since the Elder Sonny passed away a couple of years ago, the AYCE Buffet has gone, new seating, and a great staff await you. Appetizers are great, Soups and Salads, and sandwiches, junior menus, assorted soft drinks, beer and wine, and seafood galore, including fried platters, broiled ones as well, Land Lovers specials, and the chef's specialties are awesome, ranging from Sauteed crabmeat, to A Steamed Dream, a half dozen of snow or dungeness crabs, half pound of shrimp, half doz clams, crawfish, and mussels. You wont regret it.

we haven't eaten here in a couple of years.It used to be a vacation tradition when they had an AYCE dinner bar. And it was wonderful!! It's right across the street fom Oden's Dock so you can sit outside while you are waiting and watch the boats coming in from their charters.

If it's still the same, the seafood was fresh and the service was top notch.!
