A Quiet Commute

I took the Staten Island ferry to Carnegie Hall last night. It was cool enough to keep most inside. I always sit on the Brooklyn side as the tourists all want to be on the Statue of Liberty side. Best commute in the city and it's free.

Nice framing. It is amazing that the ferry is still free and operates 24/7. I haven't been on it since cars were not allowed many, many years ago. How is that former vehicle space now used?

Only one boat left that is built to allow cars and that is the Kennedy. The area is sealed off. It is due to be retired next year but I heard because of damage to the shipyard down south in the hurricane that might be delayed.. It is the last of the boats with the wooden benches.
