We had the house painted so the signs had to come down. So I took the opportunity to repaint them. Think they came good.

Very nice. A lot more "pop". Did you do these yourself? Awesome job.

Very cool! Great job!

How often do you need to repaint? I wondering if you applied a clear poly if that would extend the life of it?

The sign has been up for just over eight years now. I have done some minor touch up, but this is the first total repaint. The One Shot paint is very good paint made for signs. I looked into applying a top coat, but talking with my friend that is a sign painter, he said it is more trouble than it is worth.

My biggest concern is the base material. It is cedar and is showing signs of deterioration. I have learned that there is material, strangely enough called sign board, that I would use to make a new sign if I can no longer repair this sign.

The other thing that I would do differently is the tail string was a steam bent 1/8" dowel. I had to replace most of it this time as it was cracking, if you look closely at the first photo you can see the cracks. Used a brass rod this time. I think this will be better.

I work for a large printer and know some people who own sign shops. You might want to think about finding a shop that could reproduce what you made. They could take a 3D scan of it and then route it out using a 3 axis router. Their are a bunch of materials they could do this with including wood
