Made this with my daughter this weekend. She drew it, I cut, and she resined it. I’ve never used resin before and it was pretty fun. Hope to make more.

Looks good. I have been working to get my new shop up and running while riding this out.

I figured you would have a house full of furniture made already! I’m still jealous of your wine case. I found a bunch of curly maple and 14in wide curly cherry I forgot I had, while digging through my wood rack.

Well, I did squeeze in this while putting up the shop.

That’s an impressive board! Is that solid - I could not tell if it was a veneer.

It is solid maple with strips glued in the cut out curves.

That piece of cherry looks amazing. What’s it from?

The piece I posted is old cherry barn boards from our farm. They are 1 1/4" x between 8 3/4" to 11 3/4"". I'll post a picture of the rough cut boards shortly. They cleaned up so well.. I was shocked after I ran them thru the planner. Some of the prettiest wood I've ever seen.

Well, sort of. I draw a curve by hand that appeals to me, then I make a template that is that curve. I use that as a guide for a router bit that is the thickness I want, in this case 1/2", 3/8" and 1/4". Rout the 1/2" gap first only about 1/4" deep, cut into 2 on the band saw and use a pattern bit to smooth out the cut. Make up the layered inset and glue it up. Clean it up and repeat for the other s. Nothing to it!
