Are they still catching shrimp?

I saw a post on Facebook that Avon Seafood in Hatteras had fresh shrimp. They looked big, are they still catching green tails because of the mild winter? Thx much in advance.

Our Shrimp season is traditionally mid to late Summer for Sound and Greentails in Winter (hasn't always been the case). This is for smaller local boats operating out of Wanchese, Bellhaven, Englehard etc. Have no clue on what they are advertising. Could be thawed 2019 or past winters frozen stuff. Now in early Summer (not yet) some of the big boats go South to Georgia and land their catch up this way.

Thanks Pickle, really appreciate your insight! They looked fresh (which was bizarre to me as I am somewhat familiar with shrimp seasons, can’t wait for brown season as they are my favorite), $5.00/pound heads on, $8.00/pound heads off. This was the pic...

I've seen a few shrimpers out in the past few weeks, but according to Marine Traffic, they were out of Hampton and not Wanchese.

Is Avon Seafood open again? I had enjoyed picking up fresh fish from them until they closed three or four years ago.
