Just wondering what it's like. My son was just offered at teaching position at one of the High Schools there. He is thrilled to be going, he has a bunch of friends in the DC area. Other than I heard the traffic is horrible I don't know much about it.

Housing is expensive. The schools are very good. Falls Church is one of the most diverse areas of the country.

Maybe also he checks with the school to see if there is a booster family that might be open (post COVID testing) to provide discounted housing to new teachers.

As posted, the NOVA/DC/Annapolis area is some of the most expensive RE in the US. But excellent public transportation in the DC/NOVA area so maybe won't bear the expense of a car.

Also, good on your son - hooray for teachers!

Great place. Falls Church is on the Orange and Silver Lines so he could ride Metro to get to work and live further away to save some cash, or be where the action is..

If he is at George Mason High the West Falls Church Station is like a 2 minute walk.

Thanks all! looks like a a nice area. He will be teaching at George Mason High. He know's its expensive but he also has friends there and likes the area.

Going to be a hectic few weeks, he is hoping to move down Labor Day Weekend, my wife and I and friends will be helping. Then my wife and I are off to Nags Head for a week
