The tow vehicle is a 2018 Toyota 4Runner. According to the owners manual there is a service connector under the dash for towing brake connector.
Do we know anyone who can install one on the OBX?
Has anyone installed one themselves and this is a DYI project?
Because of the importance of braking towing anything, I would recommend that you go to a Toyota dealer and have it installed professionly. It will be a bit expensive, but it will be done correctly.
I towed a 2500 pound boat and trailer with a 1999 Toyota, and not have any problems towing, but stopping took longer than I felt comfortable with.
I had hydraulic brakes that were mounted to the trailer tongue.
How much will you be towing?
Gas milage is the problem with towing, the 1999 Toyota had a 18 gallon tank.
