Just wanted to let you all know that there is serious concern in the local Charter Boat community about rising Fuel Prices. Gas prices are going through the roof and Diesel will follow. Marine Diesel is generally higher than your street filling station. Many of you don't know that a Gulfstream Charter fuel consumption can exceed 200 gallons on a twin diesel boat. You do the math, then add prorated Insurance, Dockage and the ever present high cost of Marine Maintenance and Equipment. You will very quickly justify current prices. There is serious talk about raising Charter prices. I would look to book your charter now and get assurance that you have locked in your price. I do know OIFC has a surcharge in their contract if fuel exceeds a certain price. Right now, Marinas have not addressed this rise because of very little consumption and full tanks, but refilling is going to be a shocker. I know on my boat I'm holding our very competitive price and won't raise until I know what's going on. Just sayin! Good fishing you all.
