Fishing Charter With Fish Cleaning Included

So either no one advertises it or Google cant find it. Do any fishing Charters in or around Nags Head offer fish cleaning? We had a charter last year and caught great fish but had no way to clean them. Spent extra money to get a nice and clean ourselves but we had no clue what we were doing. I am looking for a all in one charter.

I own and operate a charterboat and will send you a PM. However I have a couple of comments on your post. First and probably most pertinent is that 99% of Outer Banks Charter Boats do not offer fish cleaning. All major marinas have professional fish cleaners at their docks. Why, several reasons. Most Boats do not have a suitable fish cleaning station on the boat. It is also dangerous to clean fish on a rocking boat on the trip in. Next, Most Outer Banks fish have size limits. So if you could clean them on the way in, you would have to bring in all the carcasses for measurement if a Fish and Wildlife Commission, NMFS or Coast Guard regulations was to be doing random checks. Cleaning on the boat at the marina, generally a no/no and it could be in the Dockage Contract. I don't know who you chartered in the past. If was a small outboard , trailered launched they don't have any place to clean. Fishing cleaning can range anywhere from 30 to 50 cents a lb on the hoof depending on the Marina and also Species. For example Triggers are harder to clean than Spanish. So where are we? Ask whoever you charter about fish cleaning, understand your options. All inclusive is a problem because of the big Variables = Quantity, Species and Poundage. I'm surprised you didn't ask about the customary Mates gratuity. Why isn't the trip price inclusive of the Mates tip. Another story for another day

Thanks for the info....I should preface we stay in Nags Head and we heard there were fish cleaners at the docks also, however we found none and everyone we asked looked at us like we were speaking another language. So can someone please specify where these fish cleaners are located and are there only certain times they are available?

Which marina did you go out of? In most the Captain / Mate typically coordinate with the fish house for you.

The Boat usually asks you if you want your fish cleaned and the Mate takes the catch to the Fish Cleaning House. All major marinas have Fish Cleaning Services. In alphabetical order OBX Marina, Oregon Inlet Fishing Center, Pirates Cove and Wanchese Marina all have. In Wanchese there is also Fresh Catch that will clean and freeze fish. Now as I mentioned in my previous comments the small, trailered outboards that use the public launching ramp under the PC Bridge or other ramps in Wanchese, Mann's Harbor, Kitty Hawk and Currituck do not have access to any fish cleaning. Not so sure about Thicket Lump Marina, they used to have. Shallowbag Bay, I don't think so. It would really be interesting where you fished out of. Fish are cleaned by the pound, "on the hoof"! And for those of you thinking, there are no fish shipping services currently on the Outer Banks.

Thanks for the info everyone, been going to Nags Head for 30 years but last year was my first charter down there. Guess I didn't have a good charter. Lesson learned. I will make sure I am asking these questions going forward.

Fished out of Hatteras last summer- really rough day with only a few fish. The charter captain dressed our fish for free- felt sorry for how seasick our son got for not many fish!
