Spanish in surf on metal. Small flounder and a 40"+ red drum reported on cut bait. No reports yet on results but Cobia fishing was heavy from point south to Hatteras Inlet....so many boats.....water was beautiful.

Was out on 55 a little earlier, water is still super gorgeous, number of boats chasing the cobia. Few people yaking their baits out. Spanish were a couple hundred yards out. Was hoping for some nice pomps but not a nibble in an hour and a half.

Frustrating when the Spanish are just outside of casting distance.... Good luck and tight lines!

If you go out first light at 55 you can get the Spanish on the incoming tide from the shore. Yesterday was good in the evening as well. Turn your truck around if you are the first few down there the clowns who park straight in make turning around once you are down there impossible so you will either flip your vehicle around when you arrive or have to back all the way back to the turnaround back the trail.
BTW the morning sound side trout bite has been amazing the last few days.

Going to try to make it down next weekend. I hope the sound bite is still going strong. I'll probably wade out by the Oregon Inlet Fishing Center again. I had great luck there last year.

Sound will still be going strong in that area for specks and drum.
