Are there any other headboats besides the Country Girl that head out of the Roanoke Island area? I've been out on the Miss Hatteras but I am trying to find something a bit closer to KDH. Thanks in advance

Okay since Big Al passed, the Country Girl has done more Charter Work than Headboat Bottom Trips. You have Three Sound Fishing, Half Day Headboats. The Crystal Dawn in Pirates Cove reservations through their Ticket Booth or Online the Jill Louise at OBX Marina in Wanchese booked through Corolla Bait and Tackle or OBX
Marina and Miss Oregon Inlet down atOregon Inlet Fishing Center, currently they are booking through Kitty Hawk Kites. All are SOUND boats. Small fish. About $60 a person 4 hours. No Ocean Fishing, although occasionally if the Ocean is calm they have ventured out to the Artificial Reef.

We took the Crystal Dawn last week for our first ever headboat trip. Only $48 and very convenient to KDH. Because of the Southwest winds that day, fishing was poor, the boat landed only 3 keepers. Captain Bobby was trying his best. We have no regrets. We enjoyed talking with the Captain, oddly we were the only ones to go up and converse with him. Mate Dylan was nice also, and seemed on top of his job. Would go again.
