I always love to read that history. Thanks to my mom’s buying us tickets as a surprise, we were able to attend the 100th anniversary celebration in 2003. It was an amazing experience that we will never forget. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate and the planned flight of the replica of the boys’ flying machine was canceled.
Other than that it was incredible!

Just a small correction. Even though it was rainy and not enough wind, they did attempt the flight. It was not successful. The replica flyer did not raise up off the rail.
All in all though, the 100th anniv 5 day event was a success. (I am a retired pilot, live in KH and attended every day of the Wright centennial in 2003)
