Wish it was my photograph, but wanted to share. This photo was taken as the sun was setting February 1, 2022 from Sandy Hook, Gateway National Recreation Area in my county. The distance is about 20 miles, as the crow flies, from Sandy Hook to The Edge in the Hudson Yards area of Manhattan. The photo was taken with a 600mm lens by a local photographer, Neeti Kumthekar.

Beautiful Shot.

Spent many years as a youngster there, at the beach and catching horseshoe crabs in the bay.
It always amazes me how close that skyline looks from there.

They are putting a restaurant in one of the buildings near the end of Sandy Hook. They have been rehabbing some of the buildings there. Should be nice.

I have mixed feelings about this. The NPS hasn't done anything for over 40 years to preserve the historic structures at Fort Hancock. If this is the only way to preserve them, then so be it. But it will change the character and the beauty of the area.
