Going to be booking a half or full day charter for August. What is the amount they are adding for fuel surcharge if any?

Inshore or offshore? Out of where? I noticed a number of the Hatteras inshore boats are up about $100 for a 1/2 day charter.

Not every boat/marina is charging a Surcharge. I know OIFC is. Some are charging $100 per $1 over $4 Diesel per Gallon. For example if Diesel was $5 a Gallon that would be $100 Surcharge if Diesel was $6 a Gallon then it would be $200. Some its only on Offshore. On my Charterboat we are not. We raised our very competitive prices in May and are going to live with it. Simple suggestion ask before you book. One word of advice, you should book directly with a Captain/Boat, not Internet Booking Sites, Marinas, B&T Shops etc. Several reasons! You can get straight answers to any questions you may have. You are not dealing with Sales people where Commissions are involved. Captains loose money on most trips not booked through them, especially Internet Booking Sites who have high commissions. Send me a PM for more info, check us out. Have a great trip.

I don't know. I quit deep sea fishing 20 years ago or more, but was looking at a web page for an Oregon Inlet boat the other day and got as far as:

Full day: $2575
Suggested tip for the mate: 15% or 20% - call it $400 or $500
Fish cleaning is 35 cents/pound. Another couple hundred bucks.

Even divided by 6 that's a lot of money. The 2.75-hour ferry ride from Swan Quarter to Ocracoke is only $15 and I don't get seasick. smiley

Will probably do a half day inshore either out of PC or OI. If its only only two of us fishing I just might try and go out with Brian Horsley or Sarah Gardner. Going offshore for a full day is just becoming too expensive for me.

Quick edit.....

Does anyone know if Sarah is still running "Fly Girl"? I only see "Flat Out"
