Found this nice piece yesterday. It's about an inch and a half square, thick and heavy. Might have been a square bottle

That is a nice piece! It puts me in the mind of the lady that lives on the island who wrote a story in one of the online news pieces about seeking sea glass and she kept walking past some pieces that looked like road asphalt until she picked one up held it to the sun and could see through it. In her article, she advised that she had done some research on these pieces and they derived from pirate ship rum bottles that had been thrown overboard. The bottles were made thickly so as to avoid breaking on tossing ships. It could be that you found one of those pieces!!!!

Here's one from this morning. Not a pirate bottle for sure but not a beer bottle either. The bottom isn't the same as a Bud but could be some up scale beer
Still smooth inside but rough on the outside

I am not an expert by any means, but I think you have a piece of pirate glass. Most common color when held to the light is an olive green which you have. The piece looks thick too. Google pirates glass to get more info. I think I found one last year which on the sand looked black, but when held up to the light was amber and has what looks like a couple of lions marching across. What a good find you have! Also, I love your other pieces!!!! Keep them!

Attached is a pic I made of beach glass found on Lake Michigan. I made a dragonfly. I love all things beach glass. I have some pieces found on the french Riviera and one of them is an old french tile piece with french writing. I also found some beautiful rounded rocks on Brighton Beach in north London that I had a hard time getting through customs! I have them all over my house snd decorate with them.

This is the pile from the French Riviera found in 2021. I especially like the french tile piece. It is one of my favorites along with what I thought think was the pirates glass found in Frisco. A few small pieces of green sea glass (that I can use in crafts) and the very nice rocks. I love history and what these rocks and glass show me about times gone by.

I went to a Buxton art fair about a month ago and one vendor was selling bracelets made out of sea glass. I bought one. I want to try to make one myself and can use hers as an example. They were pricey, but it was pretty and I like to put my money to local vendors. I have worn it a few times. It is a light green elongated piece with beads and leather. And I enjoyed chatting with her.

I did google pirate glass and found some pictures that looked a lot like the one I found but others looked a lot thicker. I don't think this is one because the bottle was square and I also found a well worn letter Y on the glass. I don't think the pirates would have had lettering on their bottles, but who knows!

You have found many pieces!!! Congrats! So hard to find them here. I especially like the small tile piece with the black and white!! That could be an old piece of a plate or something. Pretty!!!!
