Saw the results today…congrats to all the winners! Didnt agree with ALL of em but hey, everyone is entitled to their opinions. But….Five Guys?……..seriously? A greasy burger is just a greasy burger….and they have to put the fries in a double bag because of all the grease!…to each his own, I guess…..way too many GOOD burger joints on the island to go to a chain. Guess they’ve never been to Art’s?…

The last time our office ordered from Cinco Hombres, it set me back $20 for a bacon cheeseburger and a small fry. Greasy, roll fell apart and the fries were inedibly mushy.

Seeing the winners… I have some exploring to do! Five Guys lol. I have never been to this one, but if it’s like others you need short strides to avoid slipping on the greasy floor (in the dining area!) and you should eat it in the ER lobby just in case.

I like Five Guys burgers because they offer lots of toppings to pick from. I CAN NOT understand what Five Guys thinks is enticing about handing a customer a greasy bag of fries. Their small order of fries in the plastic cup is enough for the 2 of us. Why do they think scooping in more fries into the paper bag is a bonus?

Best burger is the one cooked over a charcoal beach fire - fries HAVE to come from Graham (Waves Deli) and they have to come with their white sauce

As a Local Resident and Business Owner, it's a Marketing Gimmick. With a 35 year career as an Auditor I would love to "Audit" the results. Is the voting from the general public and prior customers or is it Friends and Family "Stuffing" the Ballot Box. How are Nominees picked for Categories? So many categories need input from all our Vacationers. I doubt out of towners even know or have access to the "Contest". Yeah, yeah Five Guys NOOOOOOOO WAY! Personally, I prefer Fresh White Castles. Yup!

Just had 5 Guys yesterday. Nothing wrong with a good greasy burger and fries and 5 Guys does it better than most chains. Hot dogs are good also. Is it the best, of course not, but if you don't like it because it greasy, you would not like a lot of the local (dives) I like. Fat/grease add flavor.

It is expensive though...for fast food. Best of the beach? Nah...

I'm with Greg on Dune Burger! Sure....fast food, but that's what you get when you hit these places. I just have a soft place in my heart for Dune Burger when I was 7 months pregnant in 1987 and loved their food while staying in Nags Head. Did not have to worry about my waist when pregnant!!!! To me, it was a cute little hamburger and ice cream dive harkening back to the 50s.

It must be. Otherwise how could the Sea Ranch win over Sanderling and Hilton, and how could Black Pelican win over Owens’ and Blue Point?

Black Pelican and its blue plate lunch specials draws lots of locals, but it’s pretty mediocre overall. Like the Jolly Roger it’s been around and had a large local influence for a long time.

The Jolly Roger does win for the best Veterans Day deal.
