Thanks for posting this. That is the best trip down memory lane I have had in years. I have fond memories of almost all the places shown. One comment though; no mention was given that the top pic of Sound Side Folk and Ale House was actually when it was still the Holiday Marina. The place was opened and run in the early sixties by Bill Wilkerson who was the basketball coach at Knapp High School in Currituck County. In the first year they had only Holiday Prams for rent for a dollar an hour. They were big enough for one kid and maxed out at about one knot.
Also, I recognized two of the waiters st the Seafare. My guess is that the year was 1964.
Also the Foosball Palace/Atlantis had been the Nags Head Recreation Center long before. It was owned by Mr. Gaston Mann of Manns Harbor. Mr. Mann later became our first neighbor on what is now Bay Drive.
I’m 99.9% sure Soundside and Holiday Marina got a nice mention. Blast from the past! Mex-Econo, Seafare, Papagayo, Atlantis, ARBG, The Galleon, etc.
