Any fishing reports for northern beaches? Here until Saturday or Sunday and was thinking about giving it a try.
It's been 10d or so since I was last out and I caught a dogfish in South Nags Head. It's been a bit too chilly for me to stand out there and soak bait and I'm not interested in investing in waders to make it more palatable. If you haven't already, check out the recent posts from Ocean's East and TW's on Facebook. I don't recall too much happening up this way except the boaters in the sound are catching stripers around the bridges. Offshore has been good. Surf fishing has been slow. Little Bridge has been producing some trout, stripers, and drum, but when I went to Ocean's East two weekends ago for more info before deciding if I'd try kayaking that day or playing disc golf I was told the size of everything was small so I played golf. Last week a huge flock of cormorants were headed south and there were a LOT of pelicans and gulls in the mix diving the water. I rushed over with my metal rod hoping for a blue or something, but got no hits in the 15 minutes I tried.
If you want to head south I believe they're catching sharks with some drum mixed in on Hatteras from Avon south.
