I always make a piece of furniture when someone (children and nieces and nephews ) close to us gets married. This is for my son and his fiancé. He recently passed the bar and she is a librarian so it was the decision of what to make was easy. It is all cherry finished in 4 coats of Watco oil and 2 coats of hand rubbed furniture wax.

I'm a big fan of the Danish oil finish myself. You can really work it into the wood and get that high-end quality mat finish that you don't see in commercial furniture. It works great on quality wood firearm stocks as well.

Beautiful work Chief, and what a great piece for a librarian. You don't see them around all that often. We use ours to display our cut glass and fine wine and martini glasses. Job well done
