Harkening Back to the 70s!

Pictured is a 1970s brand new chaise lounge cushion I found at an estate sale for my chaise lounge in Frisco. It was still in its plastic packaging. It is so thick you could sleep on it. 8 dollars. At the same sale, I picked up this cute ...kinda matching...pump pitcher to use while lounging! Ha! I painted the chair in green to pull out some color from the cushion. A lot of fun!! Have it in the 2nd deck overlooking the sound.

Thanks, Mr. Greg! But, your wife sounds like a keeper!

When we bought this house, all I could see was brown and gray. It needed some color! I went to habitat for humanity and bought leftover...almost full exterior key west colors for the 4 sets of double with table attached Adirondack chairs. Needed a punch of color. They are red, yellow, purple and orange. Now, the lounger is green. They were older chairs but I feel that I have given them a longer life sealing them somewhat. Paint was 5 dollars a gallon and it is good paint! Attached are the purple and orange!

The yellow and red ones! It's fun to do and I love sitting in them. I found matching cushions for all eight seats but had to go retail on that venture which goes against my grain....then of course I had to buy a deck box to throw in the cushions to keep them out of the weather......

We can easily spot our house while on the sound boating. Just look for the wild colors!

The chairs look great. I have a couple of old rockers that need repainting so since I don't have a wife with decorating skills like yours and we live in the country, I will probably go with John Deere green Big grin

My wife is an accountant and she does my taxes for free so there's that. I'll keep her.

That looks just fine without a cushion! Good work.

Make sure you bring in that 70's cushion. That old plastic didn't last very long outside. Good find though!

Like I said! She's a keeper! Taxes are a huge pain. Thanks for the kind words!

Thank you! The flip side of it is canvas. Love it! Wish I had some of those clothes left from the 70s...probably back in style now!

Love those cushions. ! I wish I could find a web lounger from back in the 70's like my Grandpa used to spend his afternoons napping in after the yards work was done.

Thanks, Breeze! I lucked out finding that treasure. You're right on the nostalgia and that's why I love these old finds. Not to mention items were made then to last. Reminds me of my childhood too. I have seen some of those web loungers in my estate shopping trips here and there. They are great...I agree!
