I've just returned from two perfect weeks on Ocracoke. Weather and ocean were both perfect for all our beach days.
My question is about rinsing and/or cleaning hour chairs. Usually we set up the chairs and umbrellas on our (Connecticut, but not on the coast) driveway and then hose them down. We let them air dry before we pack them to to store them.
Does anyone ever use WD-40 to lubricate the legs and displace water/sand? My fear is not so much the stain on the chair, but that I'd sit in it (even a year from now) and ruin my bathing suit. (Or at least walk on the beach with a huge stain on my butt.)
One of the chairs is your standard backpack chair, but the other is a Kijaro Dual Lock Camping Chair and I want to make sure the locking mechanism continues to work. (I have checked the manufacturer website, but there are no cleaning directions.) The legs are steel.
How do you all do this?
