Anyone have any experience with the Currituck Club

My Dad was a big golfer. He bought into Kiawah Island in the late 70's long before it became the super elite place it is today and retired there. He took me along many times as a kid and bought me lessons, so I can play. I'm no expert but I know what clubs to use and the rules. I was never really "into" it but we had some good times. All of a sudden my Son thinks he's Tiger Woods and plays every weekend. I noticed they have a full B-Ball court too. I wonder if you can join if youre not a resident of the community but a homeowner in Corolla? Is it worth it? How's the service? Food? Is the course well maintained?? Thanks!!

Yeah that's Golf. It costs a million dollars to join the Club at Kiawah and is attached to your home's sale price. I think my Dad paid 2800.00 when he joined long ago.

You have to be a home owner to be a member, but you do not have to be a home owner or a renter to play there.

It is a challenging course and well maintained, I have played it many times.

So I guess access to the gym and BBall courts are members only.

We had a neighbor in Duck that was a member. Not sure of the gym but the basketball courts are for residents and guests of Currituck Club. You can in the off-season purchase weekly passes to the Corolla Light indoor fitness center. It has a lap pool and gym.

I prefer the The pointe and the Carolina club. I think it is $900 annually to join both courses. They also have a plan where you pay $125 a year and can play once a month for $25, then at discounted rates if you play more often, great for us non locals that come down in the offseason.

In case you want to purchase a home there, the cheapest one currently for sale is $1,239,000.

But - there is a lot for sale for $140,000 but it's been for sale for 912 days so red flags are waving. Maybe you could get a deal if it is unbuildable or something like that.

Stick with surfing. The green fees are a lot lower and the scenery is a lot better.

Bet the green fees are pretty steep here though.

My neighbors are members and they do not live at the Currituck Club. According to them, membership requires an up front membership fee and monthly dues. They are golfers so I have no idea if their membership includes the other amenities. According to them, you do not need to be a home owner there to purchase a membership.

Right, I saw that they have a 2 tier membership schedule. Looks like the golf membership is a nation wide network.
