Headed down to hit the rod and gun shop for a few things. Going back we plan on hitting the beach. That's kind of a routine - never really looked around. Any cool shops that we should check out on the way there or back.

IMO, the best shop down in Frisco for original art work is Red Drum Pottery across the street from Frisco Rod and Gun and up a bit. They are family owned. We have family that are into banjos and guitars and I've bought earring guitar pics for them as well as a couple of small original paintings. I also bought my son a t shirt there of the space alien ship that burnt last year. He and his fishing buddies thought the ship was cool. The original paintings at Red Drum are very nice and I always buy originals to help the artist and they are just better than prints. I only have originals in my homes. Be they inexpensive or expensive...just a better product for the money. For clothing, Natural Art Surf Shop is nice and owned by Carol and hubby. She's a volunteer DJ for Radio Hatteras and my son and his wife buy all of their beach wear and t shirts there in Buxton. Bought hubby and I a couple of Radio Hatteras t shirts there as that's our fav radio station. Many of the shops here are the same old...same old that you see anywhere. Rod and gun have some sales on their Huk shirts and I like to buy those for hubby and son. A few cute things at Dillon's Corner in Buxton reasonably priced. Just not a lot down here really. Stop at Pops and get a famous t shirt from the best restaurant down here of course! Have a safe trip!

Edit: Oh...I forgot to add the Old Gray Gift House in Buxton! They are great! The owner"s mom makes jelly and preserves and such and my sis in law and I have bought a lot of that for Christmas presents! The owner is very sweet and has a lot of consignment items in there. They are going southbound across the street from Conner's supermarket and down a street that looks like an industrial area! Look for their sign on 12. Sis in law bought driftwood there and I picked up a homemade apron for my 5 YO grand and they truly do have some great stuff there. A different type of shop with all kinds of homemade items that are one of a kind and reasonably priced. We have spent a lot of time there. Much better than most shops here IMO. I have scoured every inch of these villages for the best shopping!

Thanks for the tips Bentmtn, I'll check it out. And BF it's called Frisco Rod and Gun. Great little shop. Plus the waters are pretty cold up here and not so much down there.
