That looks like a Dobro Resonator guitar. Dobro is owned by Gibson but there are plenty of other guitar makers that produce them.

I know of Longwood. Became co-ed in the 70s. I would have never applied to any school without a football program! I completed high school in 76. No freaking way would I have applied there!!!! Hahahha! I love football!

Thank you for this (apologies for further derail ). I had no idea how immense the program (now D1) had gotten (heck, I thought Longwood had long been absorbed by another school). Guys like Aldrich just amaze me how they can transition, with a high degree of success, from one vertical to another, totally disparate one. Kinda like Joe Moglia (former Coastal Carolina).

Immense EQ, leadership skills and, yeah, they know their sport.

We passed Morris about 3:00 returning to OBX. That place was beyond packed with cars & trucks parked to the east, west, south of the market building.

Aldrich was a teammate of coaching legacy Ryan Odom at Hampden Sydney, the new coach of VCU. Watch them both rise to the top. I also apologize for the derail.

Derail again! Back in the 70s, colleges were much different as compared to today. So glad Longwood is doing well. When I was at the stage in 1975/76 looking at schools, it was never in my top three at all. VA has some fabulous schools, but that college was never even on my radar. I was thinking private or nice government ones. I liked JMU, but sis graduated from in 75, so I thought I would try another. Daughter graduated from JMU and loved it. Just a lot to choose from. Dad said I had to pick an in state school! Back in the day, the private school I picked, was only 2500 dollars a year. Sooo different crazy tuition now!
