Did the Heli-coil repair, changed the plugs and wires and replaced the destroyed coil pack with an OEM Denso...Just got back from the beach on a little twilight road test with my son who has been down all week for a visit. Hit Okinawa Sushi and grill last night in Corolla, sat at the Sushi bar and drank sake and ate spider rolls, seaweed salad and some complimentary crab salad from our Hong Kong connection sushi Chef Sam. Did some surfing the other day together, fishing and have been having a great time together!

BF, I’m guessing you have to beat the girls off of that son of yours - with a stick!

We had one like that.
So glad he found and settled down with a good woman!

BF how tricky is installing a Heli-coil? Any chance of metal fragments dropping into the cylinder?

It's pretty straight forward. Yes, you will get fragments into the cylinder. I just crank it over a couple times and it comes right out, some right out the head and I imagine some out of the exhaust. I looked at it with my bore scope and it was clean after a couple turns. Had to wipe the lip that the plug sits on with a Q-tip before installing and staking the coil as well. You wanna grease up the debris channels on the thread bore before you cut and a good portion of the shavings will stick and ride up on the tool as you go.
